The proposal for the general hospital in Pljevlja, Montenegro, takes a human-scale approach, connecting the city and surrounding mountains. It features small pavilion-like volumes arranged like stepping stones, following the natural slope. The design reflects the patient’s care journey, from arrival to recovery. The hospital prioritizes creating a healing environment that integrates with nature. Large courtyards bring light and fresh air to spaces typically lacking in hospitals and create a serene atmosphere resembling a walk in the woods. The hospital is nestled within a park-like setting, preserving existing trees and providing public spaces and paths. The architecture blends harmoniously with the environment, using wood and local stone materials.
